Especially when a large amount of hard feed is to be fed daily, it is important to split this into several smaller feeds where possible. This not only gives the horse the chance to digest and get the most out of the feed, but it also reduces the risk of undigested starch and sugar reaching the large intestine.

Nutritional guidelines

Feed 400 g - 1 kg per 100 kg body weight per day in combination with free access to roughage. Do not feed more than 1 kg per 100 kg body weight per day in total. Divide this over at least 2-3 portions per day. Ensure a minimum consumption of 2 kg per 100 kg body weight of roughage per day. Fresh drinking water must always be available.
