Roughage - the cornerstone of complete feeding
Aromatic roughage of the best quality is not only a pleasure for horses, but the basis for health and well-being. Good roughage quality provides for the intestines and optimises the metabolic processes and the immune system. Roughage is considered to be basic, has deacidifying properties and therefore also serves to regenerate muscles and joints.

Nutritional advice:
As an alternative to basic feed: 1.2-1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight per day .

To upgrade the basic feed: adjust the quantity to the basic feed stock.
1 kg Heucobs replaces 1 kg hay . Feed larger quantities slowly. Soak 1 kg hay cobs in 1.5-3 litres of water.

Maximum 2 kg (dry weight) per meal - always soak.

1 liter corresponds to approx. 630 g

To meet the necessary roughage requirements of horses with dental or chewing problems, approximately 1.2-1.5 kg of hay cobs per 100 kg of body weight should be fed daily, so that weight loss can be counteracted. Heucobs are suitable as an alternative to roughage or for upgrading hay or haylage and as a feed substitute for horses that should receive little or no grain. In large horses, positive effects on digestion and nutritional status can be determined from 2 kg per day.
