Black Spot Syndrome
Nestling Protection & Breeding Support
AviMax Black Spot is a nutritional supplement based on a combination of natural plant extracts, essential oils and active phytochemicals. It is specially formulated to help prevent and manage Black Spot Syndrome and gastrointestinal disorders in cage and aviary birds, particularly during the breeding season, when young nestlings are highly vulnerable to infections.
Black Spot Syndrome is a condition commonly observed in young canaries, finches and other songbirds. It is characterized by a dark spot visible through the thin abdominal skin, often during the first days after hatching. The characteristic spot is generally associated with an enlarged, congested gallbladder, although similar symptoms may also result from liver enlargement or other internal disorders.
Black Spot Syndrome may be associated with various pathogens, including Canary Circovirus (CaCV), Mycoplasma spp., Salmonella spp., E. coli, Atoxoplasma spp. and Coccidia. These microorganisms can affect intestinal health, impair nutrient absorption and contribute to poor growth, weakness and nestling mortality.
AviMax Black Spot is a highly concentrated formulation combining various plant extracts, essential oils and active phytochemicals, including oregano (Origanum vulgare), menthol, peppermint, cinnamon oil and eucalyptus, alongside other active ingredients.
These botanical compounds contain biologically active substances, including phenolic compounds and terpenes, known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The formulation is designed to help maintain balanced intestinal microflora, support digestive health and promote proper nutrient absorption.
In addition, Black Spot is formulated to support the immune system and strengthen the birds' natural defense mechanisms, particularly during periods of stress and increased susceptibility to infections. Maintaining good hygiene in breeding cages, nests, feeders and drinkers is essential, especially during the first days after hatching.
